New brands at Innoveat 2017

Innoveat is always looking to showcase exciting brands who have the perfect products for buyers in the travel and leisure industry. Here are four of the new and innovative brands exhibiting with us in 2017.

The idea behind the brand

Founder Paul Whyte is on a mission to share the amazing flavours he’s tasted on his travels around the world. When he got back to the UK, he noticed that the pasties he ate were bland-tasting, had big crusts and very little filling. This gave him his ‘light bulb’ moment and he decided to bring a contemporary twist to the pastry snack, using better ingredients and exciting street food flavours to really shake up the on-the-go product sector.

Products and flavours

Each street food pastry has been lovingly inspired by a recipe or vendor from around the world:

  • Brazilian BBQ Beef with Chilli Lime Salsa – inspired by the beach vendors of Bahia
  • Malaysian Chicken Curry – inspired by the hawker centres of Penang, the foodie capital of the orient
  • Magical Moroccan Lamb – inspired by the market traders of Marrakech
  • Creole Vegetable Jambalaya (v) – inspired by the cuisine of the southern states
  • Mumbai Bhaji (v) – inspired by street hawkers in Mumbai and throughout the Maharashtra region
  • Vietnamese Chicken – inspired by all the street vendors in Vietnam, the spiritual home of street food

Hasel Herz

Hasel Herz

The idea behind the brand

Hasel Herz is passionate about hazelnuts. They have a range of delicious snacks and spreads based around hazelnuts as the main ingredient. To ensure the highest quality of every product they offer, they only use premium hazelnuts from the Turkish black sea region.

Products and flavours

There are three different snack packs which are all gluten free, vegan and contain no additives or artificial flavours:

  • Roasted hazelnuts coated with rosemary
  • Roasted hazelnuts coated with chilli and lime
  • Roasted hazelnuts coated with chai with bourbon vanilla

They also offer three delicious roasted hazelnut spreads which are sweetened with grape syrup or coconut sugar:

  • Kulau Nut – hazelnut meets coconut blossom sugar making it the perfect spread for bread, smoothies, muesli and yoghurt
  • Sweet Nut – this hazelnut paste is sweetened with thickened grapes making it ideal for bread, baking and cooking
  • Love Nut – sweetened with grapes and delicious with salads, desserts and in milkshakes

The Curious Cheese Company

The idea behind the brand

Dai Nicholas, George Katsoros and Jane Arthern are the team behind The Curious Cheese Co. They created a brand that brings innovation, versatility and vibrancy to an ignored and undervalued commodity sector. Observing a niche for something innovative, exciting, yet premium and adult within the cheese category, the business was born when cheesemaker Dai created his very first Welsh Rarebit. This evolved to become a fabulous range of vibrant blended cheeses with various ales, herbs and other ingredients to create a meltable and versatile cheesy pot of scrumptiousness.

Products and flavours

  • Chic Brie – a blend of brie with caramelised onion, cream cheese and black pepper
  • Chilli Cheddar – a blend of cheddar, mustard, real ale, black pepper and chilli
  • Cool Stilton – a blend of stilton cheese with sage, cream cheese, dark ale, tomato and black pepper
  • Sassy Feta – a blend of feta cheese with sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red pepper and green and red chillies
  • Spring Cheddar – a blend of cheddar with spring onion, black pepper and marmalade
  • Welsh Rarebit – a blend of cheddar cheese with dark ale, mustard, tomato, black pepper and Worcester sauce

WUBL water

WUBL Water

The idea behind the brand

WUBL was created in response to Mums and Dads trying to navigate the growing and complex food and drink market catering for two to four year old children (or Tiddlypeeps as they call them). The purpose of the brand is to create healthy drinks, snacks and dishes that Tiddlypeeps will love and that Mums and Dads can trust. WUBL World is an interactive and entertaining online space for Tiddlypeeps to safely explore. Parents also get a page there dedicated to ideas around healthy, balanced diets plus a forum to join in conversations with other parents.

Products and flavours

  • WUBL Water – this is the first spring water packaged in engaging cartons aimed just at kids. There’s no artificial anything and not a granule of sugar in sight.
